Nintendo NES Classic retro games console resurrected again

The Independent - Tech

Nintendo is bringing the NES Classic Edition back again. The company resurrected the much-loved retro console, which was originally released in the 1980s, last November, as a miniature device that fits in the palm of your hand. However, Nintendo discontinued it earlier this year, amid supply issues that frustrated many prospective customers. Nintendo has now gone back on the unpopular decision, and says the NES Classic Edition will make its next return in the summer of 2018. Included in the box are a Nintendo Classic Mini: NES Controller, a HDMI cable, a USB power cable and 30 pre-installed games, such as Super Mario Bros., The Legend of Zelda and Donkey Kong.

Nintendo set to launch a SNES mini console

Daily Mail - Science & tech

Nintendo's NES mini console was an instant hit when it hit the market last year – selling around 1.5 million units right out the gate - until the firm mysteriously stopped production. Now, it is believed the gaming company is set to follow up with another console with the hopes of recreating the same success. The SNES mini is set to launch around Christmas this year, which is believed to be designed with better software and catalog of games more advanced than its predecessor. The SNES, known as the Super Famicon in Japan, was Nintendo's 16-bit followup to its hugely popular NES console. The system came with a host of popular games, including Street Fighter 2, Chrono Trigger, Super Mario World, and the Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past.

Nintendo's Famicom Mini Console Is Coming To Japan

International Business Times

Earlier this summer, Nintendo announced that it will be relaunching its iconic NES console in the U.S. on November 11th. The NES Classic Edition will come with 30 games pre-installed, including classics like Super Mario Bros, The Legend of Zelda, Donkey Kong, and more. Now, Japanese gamers get to join in on all of the fun because they'll be getting a mini version of the Famicom called the Nintendo Classic Mini: Famicom. Similar to the NES Classic Mini, the Famicom Mini comes preloaded with 30 games, two wired controllers, but gamers will have to buy the AC adapter separately for 10. The mini Famicom will be available on November 10th, which is a day before the mini NES comes out in the U.S., for 59. "We wanted to give fans of all ages the opportunity to revisit Nintendo's original system and rediscover why they fell in love with Nintendo in the first place," Nintendo of America President and COO Reggie Fils-Aime said in a statement.

The diminutive version of one of the most influential home video game consoles of all time will launch with over 30 NES titles preloaded, including Super Mario Bros., The Legend of Zelda, Final Fantasy and Metroid. The mix also includes some surprising choices such as StarTropics, but it's a well-rounded sampling of the best the system has to offer. The full list includes Balloon Fight, Bubble Bobble, Castlevania, Castlevania II: Simon's Quest, Donkey Kong, Donkey Kong Jr., Double Dragon II: The Revenge, Dr. Mario, Excitebike, Final Fantasy, Galaga, Ghosts' N Ghoblins, Gradius, Ice Climber, Kid Icarus, Kirby's Adventure, Mario Bros., Mega Man 2, Metroid, Ninja Gaiden, Pac-Man, Punch-Out!! Featuring Mr. Dream, StarTropics, SUPER C, Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros. 2, Super Mario Bros. 3, Tecmo Bowl, The Legend of Zelda and Zelda II: The Adventure of Link. For 59.99, you'll get the preloaded games, an HDMI cable, an AC adapter and one NES Classic Controller, which obviously looks exactly like the ones you're used to. The system launches this November 11th for 59.99 across North America and the UK.
